A financial technology company held a design competition for their new headquarters in Hangzhou, China. The exterior of the campus was executed by others, however the interior scope of work was given to our Architecture and Interiors teams. We worked together to create user-centered experiences that served as a platform connecting nature with technology.
The project as a whole was designed in a group effort to create a small community within the large scale campus. The common theme was an inverted landscape with intermingling zones for users to refresh + recharge.

Toyota financial services was looking to refresh their large call center and create a work space that flowed, met their programmatic needs, and created vibrant zones to work within. HLW’s design strategy team created a program dashboard that us designers took and translated into a highly functioning and fully flushed design.
Our team studied layouts and created design options based on the user needs. In turn we created an otherwise dense and traditional space, into a fun and integrative office. The strategic intermixing of break-out spaces and collaborative zones with focus and huddle rooms showcased variety in use that offered the Toyota team room to grow with the times.

This boutique hotel was designed with the culturally historic location in mind. Set on the coast of the Mediterranean Sea, Alexandria’s aquatic locale rests as an oasis from the desert counterpart of most Egypt.

Location:
Hilton Head, South Carolina
Concept:
The design of this space is centered on the calm healing qualities of water with the abstract visual representation of watercolors as a key element. It will combine the elements of a spa-retreat with the functional must-haves of a healthcare facility. Simple and understated, this facility will provide the clients with the legendary comfort and style that is synonymous with the southern hospitality of a seaside town.
User Profile:
There are generally multiple users to a commercial environment, and with this being a combination of a healthcare facility, and luxury resort there is considerations to be made in order to meet the healthcare needs and precautions of both an Inpatient and Outpatient facility.
The healthcare environment consists of the employees such as the doctors, surgeons, and nurses. Their sole purpose at this facility is to perform the services required by a trained medical staff.
There is also the patients whose sole purpose for their trip is to receive a medical procedure or treatment.
The luxury portion of the resort caters to the concierge, business administrators, janitorial staff, salon/massage/facial specialists, and the clientele that pays for the amenities offered.
This design has a unique customized brand that reflects the design concept and is incorporated throughout the space.
With this being a large medical tourism facility, items were branded with the custom logo. (was not required for project)
The grand entrance gives the users a taste of the tranquility that encompasses the entire facilities design.
